Onside Coaching provide Forest School sessions at Dunchurch Junior Academy.

In Forest School, the children create seasonal crafts and learn about the outdoor environment whilst linking to topics that they are learning in the classroom. This includes tool use, tree climbing, den building, campfires, team challenges and more, all in a safe environment. The aim of Forest School sessions is to develop confidence and self-esteem and a positive attitude towards learning, through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting whilst upskilling the children. 

Onside also run Forest School at lunchtimes for selected children who it is felt would benefit from the programme’s nurture approach. The combination of freedom and responsibility is particularly beneficial to children that find a classroom setting challenging, helping them learn to manage their own safety and gain confidence to take sensible risks.

There is also an after school club on Mondays throughout the year.
